The celebrated Sambalpuri/Kosli poet from Odisha is admired for poetry shaped by everyday lives, local culture, and oral storytelling. His journey from humble beginnings to national recognition reminds us that extraordinary talent can emerge from anywhere—and that every community’s stories deserve to be heard.
He received the Padma Shri in 2016 for his contribution to Literature and Education. His creative path offers an inspiring reflection on persistence, cultural pride, and the power of expression.
